Best Time to Ride Upper Mustang
Bike riding in upper mustang is possible for all seasons, whereas in winter and rainy seasons the way is more adventure and challenging. Upper Mustang is known as the rain shadow area so rainy season is better than winter seasons. The Best seasons for the upper Mustang motorbike tour are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these months, you can expect good roads, stable weather, clear skies and mild temperatures which is perfect for both riding and exploring.

Permits Required for Motorbike Tour in Upper mustang
Upper mustang region is classified as a restricted area by Nepal government, so special restricted area permit must be needed to visit this place. Others permits required to travel in this reason are:
1. Restricted Area permit(RAP): Those riders who wants to ride in Upper mustang issue the restricted area permits, which is issued by the department of immigration , Kathmandu through a registered trekking /tour agency.
Cost and Validity Restricted area permit
- USD 500 per person for the first 10 days.
- USD 50 per person for each additional day beyond 10 days.
- Validity: Date-specific and single-entry only (valid only for the stated duration inside Upper Mustang).
- Annapurna conservation area permit (ACAP): This permit is needed for every person who visit in Annapurna conservation area. Some parts of our bike tour covers Annapurna conservation area, so ACAP permit must be issued by the riders who are riding bikes in Upper mustang area. Nepal Tourism Board or ACAP counters in Kathmandu and Pokhara issue this permit.
Cost:
- NPR 3,000 (approx. USD 25) for foreign nationals.
- NPR 1,000 for SAARC nationals.
- Validity: valid for a single entry into the designated areas of the Annapurna Conservation Area.
