The day is for exploring Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, offering insight into Nepal’s spiritual and cultural depth before heading into the Himalayas. Visits include Pashupatinath Temple, the most sacred Hindu shrine in Nepal, the magnificent Boudhanath Stupa with its towering mandala, and Swayambhunath, perched atop a hill with panoramic views of the valley.  This cultural immersion provides a meaningful contrast to the rugged adventure that lies ahead.

After finishing the half day tour riders get their bike for the final inspection and checkup.

Evening: Final briefing and early rest before tomorrow’s ride.

Day 3: Ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820 m)

The first riding day begins early as the group heads west toward Pokhara along Nepal’s scenic highway system. The ride follows the Trishuli River through rolling hills, terraced farmland, and bustling roadside towns. Riders experience a mix of smooth tarmac, winding curves, and occasional traffic, making it a perfect warm up for Himalayan riding. By late afternoon, the journey ends in Pokhara, a relaxed lakeside city nestled beneath the Annapurna range.

Ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820 m)

Day 4: Ride from Pokhara to Muktinath (3,800 m)

The ride to Muktinath marks a dramatic transition in both altitude and landscape. Passing through Beni and Tatopani, the route follows the Kali Gandaki River into the world’s deepest gorge, flanked by Dhaulagiri and Annapurna.

After Jomsom, the terrain becomes arid and winds intensify, adding challenge and excitement to the ride. The final ascent leads to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site revered by both Hindus and Buddhists, set high against the stark Himalayan backdrop.

Day 5: Ride from Muktinath to Ghami (3,520 m)

Entering the restricted Upper Mustang region, the ride becomes more technical and adventurous. After passing Kagbeni—the official gateway to Upper Mustang—the landscape transforms into a high:altitude desert of eroded cliffs, deep canyons, and ancient cave systems. The route includes river crossings, loose gravel, and off:road trails, demanding focus and controlled riding.

Arrival in Ghami, one of Mustang’s oldest settlements, offers a glimpse into traditional Tibetan:influenced life.

Day 6: Ride from Ghami to Lo Manthang (3,840 m)

Today’s ride crosses several high passes and unfolds some of the most iconic scenery of the journey. The trail winds past the striking red cliffs of Dhakmar and the historic village of Tsarang, home to an impressive monastery and ancient palace.

As the riders approach Lo Manthang, the legendary walled capital of the former Kingdom of Mustang appears on the horizon, standing isolated and timeless in the vast Himalayan plateau.

Day 7: Full Day Exploration of Lo Manthang

A full day is spent exploring Lo Manthang and its surroundings, allowing riders to slow down and absorb the cultural richness of the region. Visits include the Royal Palace, Jampa Lhakhang, and Thubchen Monastery, each reflecting centuries-old Buddhist traditions. An optional ride to the Chhoser Sky Caves reveals mysterious cliff dwellings carved high into rock faces. This day offers rare insight into one of the most preserved Tibetan cultures in the world.

Day 8: Ride from Lo Manthang to Jomsom (2,720 m)

The return journey retraces the Mustang trail, revealing the landscape from a fresh perspective. Descending gradually, riders pass familiar villages and wide valleys, with changing light and wind patterns adding variety to the ride.

After reentering the Kali Gandaki corridor, the route becomes faster and greener, concluding in Jomsom, a key mountain town and logistical hub of the region.

Day 9: Ride from Jomsom to Pokhara

Leaving the dry Mustang terrain behind, the ride descends toward Pokhara through Tatopani, where riders may enjoy a stop at the natural hot springs.

The road gradually improves as the environment shifts back to lush forests, waterfalls, and terraced hillsides. Arrival in Pokhara feels rewarding, offering comfort and relaxation after the demanding Himalayan stages.

Day 10: Full-Day Pokhara Exploration

Today is a complete Pokhara exploration and adventure day. Riders can choose to relax, explore the city by motorcycle or participate in one or more adventure activities.

Early Morning – Sarangkot

For riders who want another memorable motorcycle ride, an early morning ride to Sarangkot is an excellent option.

Enjoy sunrise views over the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre before returning to Pokhara for breakfast.

Day 11: Ride from Pokhara to Chitwan

A shorter and scenic ride takes the group to Chitwan, a beautiful jungle adventure in Nepal.

Day 12: Ride from Chitwan to Kathmandu

In the evening, the group gathers for a farewell dinner, celebrating the successful completion of an extraordinary Upper Mustang motorbike expedition.
